Borsa Istanbul and the Capital Markets Board (CMB) have changed the market criteria for the stocks traded on the Equity Market.

Accordingly, with the new criteria set for the Stars Market, the market capitalization was increased from TRY 500 million to TRY 1 billion, the market capitalization of shares in actual circulation from TRY 100 million to TRY 150 million, the number of domestic individual investors from 1000 to 1500, and the amount of domestic funds from TRY 3 million to TRY 5 million, while the liquidity value was reduced from 2.5 to 1.5.
The market capitalization for the Main Market was increased from TRY 60 million to TRY 150 million, the market capitalization of shares in active circulation was increased from TRY 30 million to TRY 60 million and the number of domestic individual investors was increased from 500 to 750, while the liquidity value was reduced from 7.5 to 5.
The amount related to the market capitalization of the relevant stock within the last year, which is used to determine the number of domestic individual investors within the criteria, was increased from 500 liras to 1,000 liras.
For the exemptions to apply, actual circulation must be greater than 5 percent.
In the exemption applied for the Stars Market, the market capitalization of shares in actual circulation was increased from TL 750 million to TL 1 billion 250 million, while the liquidity value was reduced from 2.5 to 1.5.
In the exemption for the Main Market, the market value of the shares in actual circulation was increased from TRY 30 million to TRY 60 million.
On the other hand, a new exception was introduced for shares with a market capitalization of more than TRY 250 million and a liquidity of less than 1.5 in the Sub-Market to be admitted to the Main Market.
Borsa Istanbul's new criteria for market determination will be effective as of October 1.
